Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) - that big acronym that affects everyone, groundups included. In this session, we explored the depths of PDPA and what to look out for when collecting data, be it from beneficiaries, event participants, volunteers and more!
Can you as a groundup sign a contract with another party? What are the extent of your legal responsibilities? In our first session together with Law Society Pro Bono Services, we discussed the different scenarios in which legal knowledge comes into play.
Loosening it up as we invited the groundups and their volunteers to celebrate CNY together with us! This was a lesson in itself to remind ourselves to always show appreciation to our volunteers, and build lasting relationships with them.
Often wonder how to form partnerships with others when you're just a small initiative? We heard from fellow groundup founders on how they managed to collaborate with different agencies, and then had a breakout session to piece together a journey map!

Volunteers - the amazing group of people that groundups are nothing without. We hung out with experienced volunteer management practitioners and picked up tips on how to keep volunteers engaged and motivated!
What does a funder look out for in a grant application? How can you create a compelling crowdfunding campaign? These were some questions that we learnt insight to during this session! (And we subsequently learnt how to take better group photos too 😂)
Session one! We invited groundups to join us for the very first time to find out more about the advocacy journey of fellow groundups, and also some handy tips and tricks on how to better engage the media from a professional PR firm.
